The function of this series is to document the day-to-day activities of the Secretary of State's office. The subjects discussed include the distribution of the Acts and Alabama Reports, as well as state publications generally, appointments to state and local offices, duties of notary publics, foreign and domestic corporations, the current status of legislation, municipal charters, automobile tags, land issues, particularly land tracts, bonds for public officials, and office supplies. The most frequent correspondents included probate judges and other county officials, librarians, and many others.
